Desiree Irwin is best known as a pianist/entertainer based in Chicago, Illinois. Born in Alberta, Canada, Desiree moved to Chicago after landing a position playing keyboards for Buddy Guy. She toured Europe, Canada and the United States, sharing the bill with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Etta James and other blues greats. With Buddy Guy's band she appeared on television shows such as Much Music (Canada), Good Morning America, Sudwest Funk (the German version of Soul Train), and was included in an article about Buddy in Rolling Stone Magazine.
Since her years in Buddy's band, Desiree has gained extensive experience and success in many facets of the music industry. She became Musical Director of "Tony and Tina's Wedding" (Chicago's longest running comedy), managed a professional recording studio (Island Recorders), owned and operated her own wedding/corporate party band, and toured with Frankie Avalon. Desiree has established herself as one of Chicago's most in-demand pianist-entertainers, supplementing her professional experience in a wide array of other bands, piano bars, and recording projects. Her years of experience as a performer and agent has led her to the position of National Entertainment Director for Howl at Sea. Desiree remains active in booking other entertainers for professional opportunities and contributing her knowledge every year for the Piano Ladies Convention.
Desiree is also a songwriter and recording artist, and has released 2 albums of original music. You can catch her at her "day" job traveling the world with "Howl at The Moon" on Norwegian Cruise Lines or creating original music in Galena ,IL.
